January 2013

Hey everybody. Hope that all is going well. We have had a great start to the new year here in Eldoret, Kenya. We were bummed out about missing Christmas and New Years back home. But all things considered we are having a great time over here. I just wanted to give a little update about what all is going on here. The Children's Home is doing good. I believe this past month has been the best so far, so things keep getting better and better. We have 18 Children in all, counting the other House Parent's Children. The newest addition to our family is a new born baby girl named Adriel, which was only 2 weeks old when we got her. She is very beautiful, and we can't wait to watch her grow up. One of our other's baby named Jared, is starting to walk more and more which is fun to watch. The rest of the children are doing well. They are very happy, and have a lot of fun here at Tobiah Home. We are getting very accustomed to Barney, which is the children's favorite (well, only movie they watch.) I believe Danielle and I now know every Barney song by heart. The children love to dance as they watch it. Soon, the children will be starting school again, so please pray for that to go well. In other news, Peter and I were part of a team this past week that planted a new church in an unreached area here in Kenya. It was a great experience and a lot of fun. The most challenging part was preaching on the stage that we built. It was very rough wood with knots all over it, so I almost fell several times while preaching. That being said, the crusade went very well. The ppl were very receptive to the gospel and we had amazing turnouts every night. We ask that you please pray for this new church, and that it continues to grow. We have still not started our feeding program yet. However, we will be starting very soon. We have already purchased all the supplies and everything we need. So we're not far away. Please pray for this feeding program to be successful. We hope that it will grow by God's favor and completely transform the people that live in the Sukunaanga Slum. We already have a mission team coming this summer to help minister to the ppl there. We have high hopes for it. Danielle and I are both doing great. We stay very busy with all of the children, but things are going well. We are excited to see what God has in store for us for the rest of 2013. Please continue to pray for us. God bless!
